چکیده

The new coronavirus associated with severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS-CoV-2), surprisingly, does not affect only the lungs. response to SARS-CoV-2 appears include a “cytokine storm,” which indicates state of hyperinflammation and subsequent dysfunction multiple organs tissues in most cases. This could be reason why populations at highest risk for death from infection–induced disease (coronavirus 2019 [COVID-19]) are those suffering chronic low-grade inflammation, but prone hyperinflammation. includes individuals advanced age obesity, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, metabolic syndrome. Inflammation resolution is strongly dependent on lipid mediators, specialized pro-resolution mediators (SPMs). ?-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (?-3 PUFAs) precursors very potent SPMs, including resolvins, protectins, maresins. Additionally, they less aggressive inflammatory initiation, after competing ?-6 eicosanoid synthesis. Therefore, it makes sense consider use PUFAs clinical management COVID-19 patients. may given by oral, enteral, or parenteral routes; however, route favors faster incorporation into plasma phospholipids, blood cells, tissues. Here, we discuss these aspects propose infusion as adjuvant immunopharmacotherapy hospitalized patients COVID-19.

A mixed lipid emulsion derived from soybean, coconut, olive, and fish oils reverses jaundice. Here we report the reversal of cholestasis and the improvement of enteral feeding tolerance in 1 infant with inte...
